Sr Area General Manager

Fred Johnson, III

Fred Johnson, III is the Sr Area General Manager for Sodexo, the food service provider at the U.S. House of Representatives. He was born and raised in Norwalk, Ohio. Fred began his culinary education at Monroeville High School electing to enroll in a Hospitality and Culinary Arts vocational school learning program. Once joining the Air Force in January of 1993, Fred’s first active duty assignment was General’s aide to the 14th Air Force Space Command.

Through his duties Fred became known for his fruit basket carvings he displayed in the Distinguished Visitors Lounge. Major General Gerald F. Perryman sent Fred to the Culinary Institute of America, Napa Valley to further his education and skill set. Chef Fred was assigned his first full time cooking roll in 1999 on the historic KC 135 callsign CASEY-01 which is now on display. Chef Fred was promoted to Technical Sergeant in 2002 and served on the C-9 plane that was dedicated to the Supreme Allied Commander of U.S. Forces in Europe Four Star General James L Jones. In 2006 Fred was transferred to MacDill Air Force Base where he performed his culinary arts for General David Patraeus and former Secretary of Defense General Mattis. In 2010 Chef Fred was offered a position on Air Force One cooking for President Barrack Obama where he finished his military career in 2013.

Sr Area General Manager (Chef) Fred has been working for Sodexo since August 2014, first serving the Marine Corps at Quantico, and now the representatives, staff and guests of the U.S. House of Representatives and has been enjoying civilian life.

I’ve been working as a professional handyman for years, catering to satisfied clients throughout DC and the surrounding area. I’m proud of the work I do offering top quality home improvement services that you can count on. My focus is on illuminating all the windows of the Capitol. I am thrilled to be apart of the Capitol Gingerbread team!

Growing up, she realized she has a gift for cooking and hosting, and decided to turn her passion into a thriving career. Stephanie, currently working as the Culinary Innovation Manager with Bimbo Bakeries,  is always exploring new cuisines and fresh cooking methods. Her recipes are unique and delicious, and her services are simply unmatched.
